The author has written a much-needed book that should be recognized not only by the Christian community, but by the secular community.  His purpose in writing the book is to address the silent epidemic and the alarming deterioration of family units and individuals. His book reveals a flurry of wrong choices beginning from Rebekah (Jacob’s mother) to a wide range of emotions, mindsets and self-destructive thoughts and ways that keep us from God.  Encouraging all to look up to God, the author speaks from a psychological standpoint as one who was well-acquainted with failure and certainly understands feelings of hopelessness, despair, and not measuring up. Yet, he adamantly states God is the only One who can meet us in our darkest nights and pit experiences to see us through. God’s compassion, love, and instruction is revealed through the life of Joseph, similarly we can expect the same.  Insight into the human psyche gives us a front-row seat and the author challenges readers to thought-provoking issues that will bring enlightenment, healing and the grace of God upon one’s life.

Speaking The Promises of God and Reaping A Harvest

Mark 11:22  So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in (Greek = the faith of) God. 23 “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says.” 

Three times in verse 23 you see that you will receive what you say. What do you say when you have problems? Do you confess the problem? Do you say that you don’t know what you will do about the problem, that the problem will not go away. You will receive what you say, because God’s Word promises that you will receive what you say. 

You are believ­ing that the problem will not go away. Start speaking the promises of God, believing what you say, and applying the promises to the situations in which you find yourself.   Job 22:28 You will also declare a thing, and it will be estab­lished for you; so light will shine on your ways.

All Things Through Christ, ALL

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens (Greek: empowers) me.  

Most Christians do not have total confidence in the promises of God.  They would like to see them fulfilled in their lives, but are not really expecting the answers to arrive until they get to heaven.  Strongholds in the mind are established whenever a person feels a situation can’t change.  

A person who says he can’t overcome his temper, has established a stronghold in that area.  This allows the enemy’s forces to enter through that door and cause many other problems in his life.  These strong-holds will continue as long as you do not completely depend on the Lord, or spend much time reading His Word.  

Fear will stop you from starting something the Lord has for you, even though God says you can do all things through Christ who gives you the strength.  

Look for Scriptures to overcome the problem, then depend on them.

Beware Of The Company That You Keep

There are letters and there are letters.  In Letters to My Son Gary Bowen culminated from letters the author wrote to his beloved son during his incarceration in jail.
 
Each of Gary's letter expresses not only his thoughts, but preaches the Gospel of Truth as the author was led to instruct his son to get back on track with the Lord.

As a series of arrests come forth, it was revealed that the son was hanging our kids that were considered “Goths” whom are believed to worship the devil. Revealing that there are only 2 paths to follow in this world, one is to serve God, and the other is to serve Satan.  

The choice is yours as the author reiterates that just being a “good” person will not get you to Heaven, but confessing Christ with your mouth and believing in your heart that Jesus died and rose again to pay for your sins. 

The author lovingly speaks not just to sons, but to all, encouraging them to follow God, most importantly reminding them to adhere to God’s words above all else as noted in Proverbs, presenting that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.  

This book comes highly recommended as an evangelistic tool to reach out to those who are lost and/or imprisoned and/or using drugs.

You are the Righteousness of God

2 Corinthians 5:21 says -  For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 

Paul shows you in verse 18 that Jesus is the head of the body - which is the Church, and that all the fullness should dwell in Him.  A head without a body, or a body without a head is useless, they must work together. You are part of the body of Christ, with Jesus in you, and not yourself controlling things.  

You are the righteousness of God, and must allow the Holy Spirit rather than your carnal nature to direct you.     

God has an inner image of life which is to produce Jesus in you.  God desires that you conform to the image of His Son, and allow His divine inner image to fill your spirit.  

You then can reflect the nature and character of Jesus in your life, which will cause more people to want to come to Him.

Depending on God’s Word

Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.     

In the verse above, Isaiah points out that you are only going through the waters, or the trying circumstance. You are not going to set up living in the situation, because it’s shortly going to pass.  

Expect the trying situation to not overwhelm you, because you are depending on the Lord to see you through the problem.     

In Daniel 3 you find the story of the Three Hebrew Men who were thrown into a furnace, that was hot enough to kill the guards who were standing in front of it.  

They were depending on the above promise which was given 132 years before.  You can depend on God’s Word equally as much, expect to receive the help God has promised.  

Start praising Him that the answers are on the way.

All Your Children Shall Be Taught by The Lord

Isaiah 54:13 All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. 

Tension is greatly increasing in the lives of many children today.  Violence at school, in the street or at home is of great concern to both children and parents.  Stress seems to increase in a greater measure each year, and there appears to be no end in sight.  

Some places have increased security measures in order to relieve the fear and tension. Many children seem to have lost their joy and appear to be very unhappy.  

The Lord promised in Psalm 91:11, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”  Remind your children of God’s promise, and tell them to depend on His Word to given them peace in any situation they find themselves in.  

Remind them to depend on the power and authority of the Name of Jesus.  Nothing can stand against the power of the name of Jesus!

The Plans That The Lord Has For You

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Where you are today may seem to be a long way from the goals you had when you first became a Christian. Is it possible the enemy got you side-tracked, and you don’t know how to get back toward the goal God has for you?  Psalm 138:8 tells you, "The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands."  When your concern is to get back into the center of God’s will for your life, He will help you get there.  He began a good work in you, and will complete it.  Be confident that He will accomplish this in your life.  He has far greater plans in store for your life than you ever dreamed possible, now expect Him to cause them to take place in the near future.

Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
